Eja has continued to make outstanding progress. Her vital signs have remained constant for a few days now. Her breathing tube is still in place but only to deliver oxygen. The breathing is all being done by Eja at this point! They continue to decrease the sedation drugs and her pain medications. Her chest tubes are not showing any drainage at this point and should come out very soon. They asked her today if she would be willing to stand at the side of her bed and...she said YES and did it!!! That's right, she was helped to the edge of her bed and they assisted her to stand and she stood on her own TWO times!! Great progress!
Her medical staff has been expecting pneumonia to set in due to her injuries as well as having a breathing tube for so long. They have been prepared and today pneumonia started to show up. They immediately started a very strong antibiotic to stop it. They don't anticipate any set backs or complications for they caught it so soon.
The family is going to hold a fast tomorrow, Thursday, January 29. The fast will be specifically to help her with the pneumonia and to help her get the breathing tube out. Your prayers and participation are greatly appreciated.
